1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FOLIO Personal Document Vault ("FOLIO", "the Service", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you") and the individual operator of FOLIO, based in India.
2. Description of Service
FOLIO is a personal document storage and management service that allows registered users to securely upload, store, view, download, and delete personal documents such as identification cards, property papers, and other important files.
The Service is provided free of charge and is powered by Google Firebase infrastructure.
3. Eligibility
To use FOLIO, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be capable of forming a legally binding contract under applicable law
- Not be prohibited from using the Service under any applicable law
By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above requirements.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and security answers
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately at foliovault.support@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account
- Ensuring the email address associated with your account is accurate and accessible
Do not share your FOLIO password or security answers with anyone. FOLIO will never ask for your password via email or any other channel.
You may only create one account per person. Creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree to use FOLIO only for its intended purpose — storing your own personal documents. You must not:
- Upload documents that belong to other people without their consent
- Upload illegal content, including counterfeit documents, fraudulent identification, or material that violates any applicable law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
- Use the Service to store content that is obscene, defamatory, or harmful
- Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or reproduce the Service
- Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service
- Overload or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.
6. Your Content
You retain full ownership of all documents and files you upload to FOLIO. We do not claim any rights over your content.
By uploading content, you grant FOLIO a limited, non-exclusive licence solely to store and retrieve your content for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not access, read, or analyse the content of your documents.
You are solely responsible for the content you upload. Ensure you have the right to store any document you add to your vault.
We strongly recommend maintaining independent backups of all important documents. FOLIO is a convenience tool and should not be your sole copy of critical files.
7. Service Availability
FOLIO is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times, uninterrupted, or error-free.
We may perform maintenance, updates, or changes to the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable for any inconvenience or loss caused by downtime or interruptions.
As a free service operated by an individual, FOLIO does not offer any uptime guarantees or service level agreements (SLAs).
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Indian law, FOLIO and its operator shall not be liable for:
- Any loss, corruption, or unauthorized access to your uploaded documents
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service
- Loss of data due to technical failures, service interruptions, or account termination
- Actions taken by Google Firebase or other third-party infrastructure providers
Always keep personal backups of your critical documents. Do not rely on FOLIO as your only copy of important files.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of FOLIO shall not exceed INR 0 (zero rupees), as the Service is provided entirely free of charge.
9. Termination
You may stop using FOLIO at any time. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, email us at foliovault.support@gmail.com.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms or are using the Service in a manner that is harmful or unlawful.
Upon termination, your data will be deleted from our systems within 7 business days.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of FOLIO shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
Relevant Indian legislation applicable to the Service includes the Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended), the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Indian Contract Act, 1872.
11. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of FOLIO after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
